What Is A Pro-Feminist?
A pro-feminist is someone who supports feminism without implying that they are part of the feminist movement. Pro-feminists support the feminist movement without claiming to be feminists. Pro-feminist usually refers to men who support feminism but do not consider themselves feminist. he term is also used by those who do not identify with, or wish for others to identify them with, the feminist movement. Some activists of both genders will not refer to men as “feminists” at all and will refer to all men who support feminism as “pro-feminists”, even if the men in question refer to themselves as “feminists”. Pro-feminist men see both personal and social change as vital.

Pro-feminists are involved in equal rights, women’s rights, activism, violence against women, men’s health, men’s studies, sometimes anti-pornography, etc. Pro-feminists usually hold feminist beliefs and advocate in feminist causes but do not consider themselves “feminist”. Pro-Feminism can be defined as a sympathy for feminism and believing that men and women are both equal and should be treated equally in all aspects of life. Pro-feminists have claimed that Pro-feminism has changed every corner of their lives and is something that they are committed to. Pro-feminists believe that the current, dominant model of manhood or masculinity is oppressive to women but as well as limiting for men themselves. Pro-feminists believe that men must take responsibility for their own behaviours and attitudes and work to change those of men in general. A pro-feminist is someone that is actively supportive of feminism and its efforts to bring about gender equality. The activities of pro-feminist men’s groups include: anti-violence work with boys and young men in schools, offering sexual harassment workshops in workplaces, running community education campaigns, and counseling male perpetrators of violence. Pro-feminist men also are involved in men’s health, activism against pornography including anti-pornography legislation, men’s studies, and the development of gender equity curricula in schools. This work is sometimes in collaboration with feminists and women’s services, such as domestic violence and rape crisis centers. Most pro-feminist men are involved in political activism, most often in the areas of women’s rights and violence against women.
