What Is International Day Of The Girl?

International Day Of The Girl is about celebrating, highlighting, discussing, and advancing girls lives and opportunities all over the world. When girls
come together to talk about what really matters to us, we can teach other people a new way of thinking about issues like gender stereotypes,
discrimination, and opportunity. International Day Of The Girl is to help galvanize worldwide enthusiasm for goals to better girls lives, providing an
opportunity for them to show leadership and reach their full potential.

How You Can Celebrate International Day Of The Girl

1.) Think about the girls in your life, such as: daughters, nieces, friends, students, etc. This day is about the girls. As women, say some encouraging
words to the girls in your life about growing up as a girl, such as: “It is important to be strong and independent.”, “Never let others put you down.”,
etc. If your a girl, know this is YOUR day.

2.) Write something about International Day Of The Girl. As girls and women, You could make a blog post announcing that it is International Day Of The
Girl. Let people know that you care. Some people may not be aware of International Day Of The Girl or what it is. Spread the word about this important
holiday.

3.) Make a statement about your personal passions, whether it’s an issue your concerned about or what. Tell others what matters to you.

4.) Share your knowledge and talents with other girls. This will benefit all girls. As girls (and women), it is always important to learn from each other.

5.) Let others know you stand for gender equality, whether its at your school, in your community, etc.

6.) If you see something sexist on television, change the channel.

7.) You can write letters to lawmakers, editors, etc. Let them know about an issue you are passionate about.

8.) Share your story with others. Stand up for yourself and for other girls.
